What do you love about doing hair?

“The gratification of giving someone a different perspective on the way they view themselves.”

Where do you draw your artistic inspiration?

“Being outside, traveling and going to National Parks, playing the violin, listening to music and live performances. There is so much beauty in the outdoors and music. When you take the time for it, you’ll find that your more connected to others than you realize.”

If you could have one Super Power for a day what would it be and how could it benefit you as a hairstylist?

“Levitation”

What do you love about doing hair?

“I love how many things hair encompasses. It requires technical ability; a great deal of study in order to know how to accomplish the results you want to achieve and endless practice of those techniques to physically perform the services. Training your brain and body to each know more than the other. At the same time allowing your intuition run wild and control your knowledge. It requires a variety of social skills. Being able to to interact with clients. Being constantly thrust into the personal space of strangers. Interpreting an individuals use of language to insure that you both understand each other. Business skills in order to do what’s best for yourself and the salon, financially. A hairstylist has to be a sculptor, chemist, a human behavior expert, receptionist, businessman, a service provider, and a craftsman simultaneously. I love that all of this is brought together by an incredibly specific medium.”

Where do you draw your artistic inspiration?

“From things that are usually dramatic, and exaggerated. Either very clean and crisp, or disheveled and disastrous.”

If you could have one Super Power for a day what would it be and how could it benefit you as a hairstylist?

“Fly….really fast. It wouldn’t help at all.”

Amanda Kirchner

What do you love about doing hair?

“I love making people feel confident and a lot of people base of their hair. I to show people how beautiful they really are. I want them to feel good about themselves. I love finishing a haircut and turning them around in the mirror and their face lights up. You can just see the confidence boost on their face. That’s what I love about doing hair.”

Where do you draw your artistic inspiration?

“I draw artistic inspiration from a challenging haircut. I love when a client shows me a picture of a funky or edgy hair cut that they want. I get all excited those are the most fun. They make me feel creative.”

If you could have one Super Power for a day what would it be and how could it benefit you as a hairstylist?

“I would want to be invisible! Who wouldn’t want their hair done by an invisible stylists? I can see it now…”Ghost haircuts” on a big sign and line out the door! ….for one day…”
